How to use Google Ads

Google Ads is probably the best way to take your website to the top of the search results because you don't have to do technical tasks just to take your website to the top. All you have to do is to allocate advertising funds, set up your Ads account, and your ad will appear whenever someone searches using the keywords that you are targeting. Here are the tips on how to use Google Ads effectively, and how you can get the most out of every click:

Create Account and Agree on a Budget

When you create an account one of the first things to do is enter your billing information. Decide your budget! There is no minimum amount you can set to suit you. You can set a daily budget so you won't need to worry about overspending. You can also stop or pause your campaign as and when required.

Keyword Research

The first thing that you need to do is to use different keyword research tools. Try to find all the keywords related to the products or services you are promoting, and choose the ones that have less competition. Check the "exact" box under match types to find the exact keywords people are entering in the Google search box to find information. The keyword tool will provide a list of keywords related to the seed word or phrase you entered. On the right side of the results, it will show you the number of global and monthly searches for each keyword. The keyword tool can also display the estimated average cost per click. This gives you an idea how much advertisers are paying for that keyword every time someone clicks on it.

Create Your Google Ads

Create 2 Google Ads so you can split test them against each other. Google does this for you automatically if you check the setting "rotate ads evenly." Try to use your keyword in the ad headline, ad copy, and URL. Keywords automatically get bolded. Begin with 10 related keywords to place in your ad group using broad match. The idea behind this is to quickly see which keywords generate the most clicks then remove the keywords receiving little or no traffic. Once you've got a good click, switch to exact match.

Build a Squeeze Page

A squeeze page contains your opt-in form and several bullet points that outline the benefits of receiving a free offer for subscribing. Google may penalize your campaign if you don't include a privacy policy on the squeeze page. The best way to prevent any penalty is to include links at the bottom of the page to other areas of your website. Make sure your offer is irresistible so it motivates visitors to subscribe. It could be a free report or software.

Track Your Ads

View the CTR of each keyword to see which one gets the most traffic. Use Google Analytics to insert tracking code on your squeeze page. The statistics generated will tell you how many visitors your page received, how long they stayed there and what keywords they used to find your squeeze page.

Monitor Your Google Ads Campaign

Log in to your Google ad words campaign every day in the beginning so you can control your spending and make adjustments to your Google Ads or keywords if necessary. It's easy to become discouraged when you spent a lot of money and don't see good results. Be prepared to lose money in the beginning because it will take a little time to master the process.

Testing

Always test 2 Google ads at the same time. Your best one is the control ad which you can continuously improve by creating a new one. This will help reduce your ad costs and increase profitability.
